History
Highveld Christian College (formerly known as Trichardt Christian School) was established in 1992 as a community school for Christian parents on the premises of the Dutch Reformed Church in Trichardt.
On the 8th of January 1992, the school opened its doors to 21 learners, 8 pre- school learners, and 6 supervisors.
In 1993 the new school year started with 64 students, 8 supervisors and 4 monitors.
In 1994 the decision was made to relocate to Secunda – the current premises of the school. The buildings were in a dilapidated state and required urgent attention.
During the short April school holiday, parents, staff, students as well as friends of the school, worked faithfully to upgrade the first two buildings. The wonderful efforts and sacrifices of all involved made it possible for the school to re-open its doors on its new premises on 18 April 1994.
This year (2025) Highveld Christian College celebrates 33 years in Christian Education!
The school currently has a playgroup class, a grade R class and Learning Centres for grades 1 – 7. The school has 15 staff members employed on a
full time basis.
Highveld Christian College is a non-profit organisation and is registered with the Department of Education.
The School is non-denominational with the purpose to partner with families of the Secunda community by offering an excellent Christian education in the English language.
